Doing This 1 Thing Helps Teens Have Better Mornings

Remember when...

...you could enjoy your morning cup of coffee or tea?

...mornings were quiet and simple?

...you only had to worry about getting yourself ready and together in the morning?

Did you think you'd get your mornings back when your kid became a Teen?

It's totally normal to glamorize the way we remember getting ready in the mornings as a teenager- and compare the way we get ready now, to the way we got ready then.

Here's the thing though- while perfect and blissful mornings may not be entirely realistic, you can have a better morning with this simple tip:

PREP THE NIGHT BEFORE

Teenagers generally have more energy in the evenings, than in the morning time. It's a no-brainer to take advantage of this energy by prepping as much as you can the night before.

Game-ify it by having everyone in the family make a list of their morning routines and seeing how many you can do the night before.

For Teens who may need a bit more structure, having a checklist like this handy can be a good reminder of the things that need to get done before it becomes a habit/routine.

Some common night before prep may include:

- putting all school books and homework in your backpack

- laying out your outfit (including accessories)

- taking a shower in the evening (or getting towels/toiletries ready for the next morning)

- packing your lunch

... and many, many more- personalize this for your needs!

I'd love to know what things you do the night before for a better morning. Leave a comment here with your suggestions!
