Do you have trouble making decisions?
When you have to make too many choices you can actually develop decision fatigue.
It makes it tough to know if you're making the right choice.
This video shares how to know if you're making the right choice by playing the INTUITION GAME.

One of the things that makes me a bit of a different type of teen therapist is that I help teens find and listen to their inner voice- their gut- that intuition that lives within all of us.
When we know how to find and tune into our intuition, it will always guide us to the right choice for us.
Remember, our minds want to believe what we tell it.
What I haven’t shared yet is that our bodies want us to tell the truth.
You’re probably sitting there like What the heck are you talking about Mallory?
Stick with me here, this is some good, life-changing stuff.
CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy, is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors all interact and influence one another.
It’s one of the core foundational aspects of this type of therapy. And let me tell you, our mind-body connection is STRONG! So strong in fact that sometimes the messaging can get a bit criss-crossed.
So today we’re going to play a little game that I learned from my own therapist. I call it the intuition game. To play along, go ahead and get something to write your answers down because you’re going to want to keep track of them. Got it? OK.
I’m going to give you two choices at a time and I’m going to ask that you choose the one you most prefer.
For example if I give you the choice between chocolate and vanilla, but your favorite is strawberry- don’t put down strawberry. Choose only between the two options I give you.
And one last rule- you MUST make a choice. Ready?
Chocolate or Vanilla
Red or Blue
Summer or Winter
Coffee or Tea
Square or Round
Puppies or Kittens
Stars or Moon
Rock & Roll or Country
Vampires or Zombies
Morning or Night
Got your answers? Awesome!!
How did you know those were the right choices?
Most people know because it just feels right. It’s tough to explain- they just know it.
Now we’re going to mix it up a bit.
I want you to go through the same list, but this time I want you to lie and choose the opposite as though it’s your preference. So for example, for the puppies or kittens question, I’m puppies gal. So this time when I ask what’s your preference, puppies of kittens? I would choose kittens- even though it’s a lie!
How was that? Felt a bit weird right?
I know when my therapist had me play this game for the first time, I physically felt like my body was physically trying to get me not to lie- like this gross feeling crept into my chest and throat. Whatever it felt like for you, that’s your gut telling you if your choice is aligned to your beliefs and values, your truth.
Pretty cool, huh?
So the next time you have to make a tough choice, tune into what your gut has to say when presented with both choices.
If you are concerned that you, or someone you know, may be considering killing themselves, please connect them with help.
